Funny - I use the outer milk bags for precisely this purpose, too. They're also easy to fold into a neat triangular shape:

Do you reuse the inner milk bags as well? They're so sturdy that I've considered using them for some kind of patchwork or other grand project, but I haven't come up with anything yet.
