Depends on the shade of green - after much testing of samples I chose "pale sea mist' b. moore for the reno of our very shabby originally black and white kitchen in our 130 year old Toronto house. I used the colour of a pottery mug done by Thomas Aiken for inspiration. I love this green every time I walk in. It looks great with the charcoal counter, black pulls, manchester tan walls, and light maple floor. Let your kids choose - even if it is not your thing! They instinctively know what will make them feel good.

I too have a nine year old ( awesome age) and a neutral home. For his 8th birthday we painted his room. He wanted to feel like he was in a treehouse. He picked a few green paint 'chips' and taped them to the wall. He chose one that is very near the color of a palm frond (we live in Florida so it made sense). Although I inwardly cringed, it looks quite nice. When he rolls up the bamboo blinds it gives the impression of being outdoors as the thick foliage around the windows blends so well with the wall color. Other than the paint and blinds we didn't really change anything, but it made a dramatic difference and I think he really feels proud of his room. It is not "my" color, but it is "our" home and I've been glad I let him choose. I do love those BM colors though.
